The challenge was to create a visual identity that seamlessly combines the Ministry of Economy's visual identity, the Triglav symbol representing Slovenia, and the nation’s aspirations in space exploration. The design needed to bridge the extraordinary historical legacy of Herman Potočnik Nordung, known for his prototype of a space station, with the innovative advancements of Slovenian companies shaping the future of space technology today.

Sometimes the greatest stories begin with a small, almost offhand question: “Would you be interested?” And it was precisely from such a question that an experience was born, one that led us to one of the most beautiful and significant milestones in our work – creating the visual identity for Slovenia’s accession as a full member of the ESA (European Space Agency).
It all started with a link to a public tender from the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport, inviting submissions for the visual identity of Slovenia’s ESA membership. Knowing that prominent, established Slovenian design agencies were also competing, doubt naturally crept in. Yet, despite—or perhaps because of—that, we chose courage: a step that required a little bit of daring, a lot of heart, and complete confidence in our own expertise.
Winning the tender was a confirmation. A confirmation that we know how to listen, understand the broader context, and bring an idea to life at the highest possible level. That we are skilled, dedicated, and capable of translating a complex story into a clear, powerful, and emotionally resonant visual language. And above all – that small team with big vision can create project that transcend the individual and leave a lasting mark.
When we saw the realized visual identity on display at Center Noordung in Vitanje, during the ceremony that marked a historic moment for Slovenia, pride took on a tangible form. It was more than just winning a competition. It was a victory of courage, self-trust, and trust in one another – proof that passion, dedication, and teamwork can create something that truly goes beyond the individual.

In this unique and comprehensive visual identity, you can observe the symphony of symbols: symbols of Slovenia, the economy, and the cosmos.
The graphic elements of ellipses, derived from the model of the space station created by the Slovenian pioneer of space architecture, Herman Potočnik Noordung, elevate this concept, making it truly unique and connected to Slovenian heritage.
The lines originating from the logo, forming an upward-pointing arrow and symbolically representing economic growth, connect with the ellipses. The logo and its story portray Slovenia as a small yet ambitious country with big dreams.
The presented examples showcase both realised applications and potential future uses of the visual identity.
Keywords that inspired the project:
Slovenia, Triglav, Nordung, space, elements sent to space, space-time continuum, launch, arrow, economic growth, entering membership.

It all began with a link to a public tender from the Ministry of Economy, Tourism, and Sport, seeking a visual identity for the communication activities marking the Republic of Slovenia’s accession to full ESA membership.
A glance at the brief was enough for two words to stand out: “Slovenia”
and “space.” Before our eyes, they merged into a unique, powerful, beautiful, and winning visual identity.
This is how our designers, Nataša and Polona, won the competition and became the authors of the visual identity that carried Slovenia into full ESA membership.
